Mark Rasmussen Airsoft Denmark

With the passing of the CEO & Founder of Airsoft Denmark, Mark Rasmussen, the airsoft community sees another bright light in our hobby/sport extinguished. What is more shocking for us is that Mark Rasmussen left this world at such a young age of 22.

People are lending a helping hand to get him back home to Espergærde, north of Copenhagen. Rasmussen was based in Oxford, United Kingdom when he was running Airsoft Denmark, living with his girlfriend Andra, and was much a respected airsoft player in the UK. He was very active, attending airsoft events and interacting with a lot of airsoft players. Before his death, he attended the Blue Fox 2 and the UKAPU AGM; and many of the people he met at these events were very surprised at his passing away.

According to Tobias Thiim, who is part of the Airsoft Denmark team, there is still some difficulty in getting Mark home to Denmark. There are logistical implications such as bringing his body and effects home.  This means that there will be costs incurred in bring him home that the Airsoft Denmark team have launched an appeal to help raise funds:

Upon reading the appeal, we got in touch with Tobias via Facebook to get more updates. He told us that the mother of Mark Rasmussen is in the UK and will have him cremated before bring him back home to the Denmark. But the cost of cremation is around 10,000 -12.000 Danish Kroner or 1,150 to 1,400 GBP (US$1,430 - US$1,720/EUR1,350 - EUR1,620) at prevailing exchange rates . Money has already been spent on bringing his things back home including his airsoft guns, with Action Sport Games (ASG), the Danish airsoft company, already helping out in this area.

Thus, the only thing remaining is for Rasmussen to be cremated and his ashes brought home by his mother. His remains lie in state at a hospital in the UK, waiting for the go-signal from his her to release his body for cremation.

The faster the amount for cremation is raised, the faster that Rasmussen can be brought home and finally be laid in peace in his beloved country. We are joining in fundraising effort and we appeal to our readers to help raise the funds to help the friends and family of Mark Rasmussen to finally bring him home.

Help bring a fallen comrade, who had much to offer to airsoft, get home. Click here to send whatever amount you can.

Thank you.
